Your Morning's Itinerary

Discover the Island From A New Perspective

This scenic and cultural tour begins with a pick up from your hotel lobby where your guide and driver will greet you and show you to your transport for the day.
Taking the scenic route to discover the island’s hidden gems, we’ll make our way towards the rural village of Les Mariannes, home of the Mauritian Pineapple! Here we can make a stop at one of the many pineapple farms to learn about its cultivation from local experts. We guarantee it’ll be the freshest and sweetest you’ve ever had!
Our picturesque route will take us along the north coast where we can view one of Mauritius’ most iconic natural landmarks; Coin de Mire Island. The striking angular formation of the island against the turquoise blue ocean is truly a sight to behold! We’ll also pass by La Nicoliere Reservoir, a pristine lake surrounded by tree-filled hillsides which offer fantastic viewpoints of the surrounding sugar fields and mountains. We’ll pass through traditional villages, catching glimpses of daily life and of course get to experience more fabulous views, including Cap Malheureux (famous for its charming red roof chapel), and the stunning white sand beaches of the Pereybere & Grand Baie coastline.

The Afternoon Awaits...

Step Back In Time And Explore The Beauty Of The Historic Château

After taking in the countless views and sights of our morning scenic tour, we will make our way to Château de Labourdonnais, a former sugar plantation. This magnificent colonial building sits proudly atop an oak lined avenue in the heart of a 540 hector estate.
Firstly we’ll enjoy a luxury lunch served in the estate restaurant while overlooking the lovingly tended gardens and the main house- the perfect way to relax after our busy morning.
After lunch we’ll begin our tour of the estate starting with the main house which has been perfectly restored to its former glory, inside and out. We’ll also tour the estate grounds which include its fabulous gardens and tropical fruit orchards brimming with dragon fruit and sweet mangos. To round the tour off, we can enjoy some premium rum tasting and sample dried fruits (grown and produced on the estate), then visit the gift shop for any desired purchases. The entire estate offers a fantastic insight into island history from the 19th century and the once lavish lifestyle of the plantation owners.
When we’re ready, we will begin our journey back to your hotel where we will drop you off and leave you to enjoy the rest of your afternoon.
